SOUTHEAST REGIONAL TO GO DOWN MONDAY, AUGUST 11 AT TYPHOON LAGOON

SURFER Magazine's 2014 Oakley Surf Shop Challenge hits the wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon, Orlando, Fla. August 11 for the Southeast Regional qualifier. Originally scheduled to run in April at Ponce Inlet, the event was postponed due to extreme weather conditions and lack of swell. The 2014 series is nearly complete with only two events remaining before the seven regional champs take off on an all-expense-paid excursion to Central America for the National Championship.

Four-man teams (two surf shop pros and two shop employees) will be competing for a chance to win the trip, an advertising spread in SURFER Magazine, and the coveted title and bragging rights of best surf shop in the country.

2013 reigning National Champions Sunrise Surf Shop have been the dominant force in the Southeast with an untarnished record of five straight regional victories and two National Championships (2006 and 2013) under its belt. But who will take the title in 2014, is still anyone's bet.

Competing Southeast teams:
Sunrise Surf Shop
IWS
Surf Station
Catalyst Surf Shop
Nomad Surf Shop
Aqua East Surf Shop
Red Dog Surf Shop
Rip Curl New Smyrna
Maui Nix
Quiet Flight
