• Teams must consist of 4 team members: Minimum two shop employees plus two shop PRO team riders (must be under 20 years of age per ASP rules).
  • There will be 16 teams in total. This will be made up as follows – SPAIN: 6 teams from Spain, 6 teams from France and 1 Portuguese, UK, German and Italian team.
  • Heats will be approximately 60 minutes in duration depending on conditions. Heat duration will be determined before the first heat by Contest Director. A surfers meeting will be held on the first morning of the contest to review contest rules and format.
  • Teams must submit their roster order and double whammy team member to the Contest Director no later than 30 minutes before the beginning of their heat. Teams must surf in the order submitted and cannot change their order after the heat has begun.
  • A maximum of 4 waves can be ridden per Surfer and each Surfers best 1 (or 2 – depending conditions) wave(s) will be counted for the teams overall point total. Wave count will depend on conditions and will be decided by Contest Director before the event starts.

  • Double Whammy – each team will choose one double whammy team member, he can choose one wave where he gets double points for that wave, but he must claim it by raising both hands within 15 seconds after he kicks out or falls off to be awarded the "double whammy" score. Once he paddles back out or goes to the beach, he cannot claim double whammy for that wave.
  • Team advancement will be by round, highest point totals moves on and lowest point totals are eliminated. The Surf format will include one x losers round following the Round 1 heats.
  • In case of a tie, scores will be re-tallied using each competitor's best wave score (if it's top two wave score) or 2nd best score (if it's best one wave score).
  • Only a blatant interference will be called, but if called, the interfering surfer's best wave score will be cut in half.
  • Deduction – if the last team member does not reach the designated competitor box by the end of the heat, there will be a 5 point deduction.
  • The Contest Director may decide to change the number of rounds or event format on the day depending on conditions. His decision is final and no correspondence will be entered in to.
